We're looking for individuals with MS to participate in a research study with the Cionic Neural Sleeve.

Samuel Merritt University is conducting a research study to investigate the impact of the Cionic Neural Sleeve on walking and functional movements such as sit-to-stand transfers and stair climbing mobility in people with multiple sclerosis (MS) who present with muscle spasticity and gait challenges.

You may be able to join if you…

  • Are an adult over the age of 22 with multiple sclerosis
  • Are able to walk and go up and downascend/descend one set of stairs with or without an assistive device such as a cane or walking stick
  • Are located in the San Francisco Bay Area or able to travel to Oakland, CA for a single testing session
  • Have spasticity in your legs which presents as unusual tightening of muscles that feels like leg stiffness, jumping of the legs, a repetitive bouncing of the foot, muscle cramping in the legs, or the legs going out tight and straight or drawing up.
  • Experience challenges with walking

During the study visit you will be wearing the Cionic Neural Sleeve on the most impacted leg for walking and stair climbing tasks. Additionally participants will complete a muscle tone assessment and a series of questionnaires. Participants will receive a $50 Amazon gift card at the completion of the study visit.
