Do You or Someone You Know Have Parkinson’s Disease?

We’re looking for people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) to wear the Cionic Neural Sleeve and participate in a research study.

Study Purpose

Cionic is conducting a research study to test a medical device to help people with Parkinson’s Disease.

The study aims to understand the safety and usability of the Cionic Neural Sleeve for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease. Confirming the safety and usability offers benefits to those who use the device to better understand how they are walking at home or in the community.

You may be able to join if you…

• Are an adult between the ages of 22 and 75 with Parkinson’s disease
• Are able to walk with or without an assistive device
• Are located near San Francisco, CA or Carlsbad, CA
• Are willing to attend 3 study visits to a study site
• Have a smartphone or iPad that has internet access and bluetooth capabilities

You are not able to join if you…

• Have limited/no response to electrical stimulation
• Have a history of daily falls
• Have a malignant tumor, existing thrombosis, or fracture/dislocation in the impacted or more impacted leg
• Have implanted devices or demand-type cardiac pacemakers or defibrillators

Your participation in the study is expected to range from 3 months to 1 year. The study will require participants to make 3 study visits and follow a walking program with the Cionic Neural Sleeve on both legs.

During the 90-minute study visits, participants will complete walking tests with the Cionic Neural Sleeve, a tone assessment, and complete questionnaires about their medication, walking ability, and quality of life. The walking program will be completed at home, at least 3 days a week. Participants will receive a $50.00 Amazon gift card for each study visit completed.

Safety and COVID-19 Precautions

Your safety is our primary concern and we have implemented a safety and sterilization protocol in response to COVID-19. This includes:

• Pre and post cleaning to disinfect all surfaces, common areas, and testing space
• Pre and post cleaning to disinfect tables, chairs, equipment (everything you would touch as a participant)
• The number of people allowed at the research site will be limited
• All people entering the site will be asked about any recent COVID-19 exposures
• The research team will wear masks upon request by the participant to minimize exposure to communicable diseases.

•  The Cionic Neural Sleeve is a Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-cleared Class 2 medical device.
